Britney had kind of a break even week after two giant TV headline performances to promote the release of her new album GLORY. (This isn’t an album review because I haven’t heard it all yet myself, but the mainstream critics and superfans have been quite positive with their feedback!) It’s strange to realize it has been a full 16 YEARS since her breakthrough hit “Oops I Did It Again” took the world by storm, and the young Disney starlet became our world wide pop princess. We have watched with baited breath the rise, fall, and rebirth of Britney through so many forms. Luckily for us fans, Ms. Spears seems to have finally become comfy in her own skin, she is succeeding with her live show in Las Vegas, and the radio hits they keep on coming. Check out how adorable she was with James Corden on CBS in the latest Carpool Karaoke spotlight.
Sadly, her much anticipated return to the MTV VMA awards after a 10 year hiatus wasn’t a sweet.

Beyonce’s top-notch performance starkly contrasted with that of Spears, who returned to the VMA stage after 10 years. Not only did she lip sync, in typical fashion, but she did so badly. Spears performed her hit “Make Me…” and danced slickly, but she didn’t actually sing a word of the song live. She was joined by rapper G-Eazy — and she lip synched the hook to his hit song, “Me, Myself and I.”
I stayed up way past my bedtime for this? Sadly it just didn’t work IMO, but I still root for Britney Spears. You cannot deny that she changed the world of pop music forever. And she can still wear nothing buy sparkles like a boss! Just wish is wasn’t yellow.
