Andy’s Goodbye

susan and andy

Life is full of endings and beginnings. One of the best beginnings I’ve ever had was when I became a part of The Susan Show at BNQ. I had just graduated and this was my first full-time job. What a dream! I couldn’t have asked for a better time and a better place to experience new lessons and learn from the best.

With that being said, I’m leaving WBNQ to work at my alma mater, Bradley University as an Admission Counselor. I’m not leaving because I wasn’t happy. I’m not leaving because I didn’t get along with Susan. (Actually, nothing could be farther from the truth.) I love Susan. She has been a strong role model in professionalism and friendship since the day we met. Even though I am leaving, I can’t wait to continue our friendship. Peoria is only 45 minutes away!

The reason why I am leaving is that this opportunity was presented to me, and I couldn’t pass it up. That’s it. I have literally loved every aspect of being here. The people of Blono accepted me in so warmly (even though I was a Brave), my co-workers were fun and helpful (and will be some of my best friends for life), and I learned a lot about myself as a person.

This has been very hard for me to do. I was looking through memories on Instagram and Facebook and it really hit me that this opportunity at BNQ was something that I was truly blessed by:

When it all comes down to it, I know that the time I spent here at WBNQ will be a time that I will cherish. The people I have met mean more to me than co-workers, they are people that I will not be able to leave behind. I will tell my children about the kind, thoughtful, and crazy people that I met in Bloomington-Normal. I will tell them about when I used to be on the radio with a great friend. And I will tell them to not take a moment of their life for granted, because you can find love in the most unexpected places. Here’s to 41 more years of WBNQ. Thanks for the good times.
