We love using our GPS to find where we’re going, but the GPS doesn’t always love us back….
Once again a GPS fail is making headline news, this time in Canada!
A 23 year old Ontario woman was recently following her GPS’s instructions when she ended up driving into Georgian Bay.
The Tobermory, Canada police say fog and rain made it hard for the woman to realize that she was driving near a boat launch. Constable Katrina Gilbert tells that the woman made a wrong turn and ended up in the water. “How the launch works, it’s not an airborne thing. It’s not ‘Dukes of Hazzard.’ It kind of goes off the road and the launch just drops all of a sudden. So she would have been driving on the road, and then all of a sudden just dropped and hit water. She’s in really good spirits. Of course a little embarrassed, but taking it all in stride.”
The woman rolled down her window and swam to safety.
How about the woman on family vacation in Australia?
They were looking to eat at an Outback Steakhouse (how cliche) and instead was directed to the actual Australian Outback! Ya know, like… the desert.
And finally, the woman traveling through the Smoky Mountains, who was told to turn onto a one-way nature trail! She had to make a 70 point turn just to get back on the road. She said it was “scary”
