Why I Love St. Jude

When you hear your child has cancer, it can feel like the entire world is against you. St. Jude wants to eliminate that feeling for thousands of parents every day.

I was able to visit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis last month and it was a life changing experience. St. Jude’s mission of finding cures and saving children isn’t just about the medicine. Kids need to feel like kids and St. Jude makes sure that this experience is one full of hope.

When Danny Thomas founded the hospital in 1962, he named it after St. Jude, the patron saint of helpless causes. Thanks to St. Jude, when a child is diagnosed with cancer, it’s no longer as hopeless. They have raised the survival rates from 20% to 80% in the short time the hospital has been around. Now they’re working towards 90%. This is still unacceptable.

When you donate to St. Jude you aren’t only helping children in Memphis, but you’re helping the kids right here in McLean county.

Seeing so many stories of hope and triumph is still met with stories of heartache and grief. This is why we need to continue supporting St. Jude every day. It takes people just like you to make huge leaps in medical research.

Thank you so much for becoming a Partner In Hope with BNQ Cares For Kids. From the bottom of our hearts, it truly means the world.
