Dog Pants Sales Skyrocket After Funny Tweet Goes Viral

A Canadian company says sales of its dog pants have surged, thanks to the recent online debate about whether a dog would wear pants on just its hind legs or all four legs?

Jared Keller, Deputy Editor at Maxim Magazine, started it all with this tweet to his 24 (now 25 thousand followers):

Tim Skelly, the owner of Ottawa-based business Muddy Mutts, tells CBC News that his canine pants sold slowly for the first 3 1/2 years they were available. However, sales have increased after Maxim writer Jared Keller tweeted the all-important question at the end of last year and it went viral.

“We’re talking thousands of coats… The only thing we can do at this point is react the best we can,” Skelly said. “I don’t think there’s any turning back now. It is going to grow, and it’s out of my hands, and now we’ll just try and carve off more time for it.”

So how does a Muddy Mutts Coat (which looks like choice A on the dog pants debate ) work? Let’s check out the instruction video from Muddy Mutts Dog Wear!

These coats, which look like pants, range in price based on dog size. The cost is 69.99 CDN to 99.99 CDN. (I have know idea how much that is in USD, but if you want dog pants, then you can find out!)

And now we know, the rest of the story…..
