The first penis transplants ever to be performed in the U.S. could happen within the next few months, as surgeons at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine plan on conducting a series of the procedures to help the country’s wounded veterans.
Johns Hopkins is currently in the process of identifying possible candidates.

While only two penis transplants in the world have ever been conducted (and only one of those was successful), Johns Hopkins has given permission to a team of three of its surgeons to conduct 60 such transplants, which are still considered experimental and which will use penises from recently deceased donors.
Dr. W.P. Andrew Lee cautions veterans should not “think they can regain it all…Some hope to father children; I think that is a realistic goal.”
God bless our wounded veterans, and best wishes for success with these upcoming surgeries!
