Guess who just made it to the top 12?
Every week I watch my favorite reality contest show THE VOICE on NBC. During this particular season (season 9) we can’t just watch, we must vote again and again for Jeffrey Austin, who grew up in Normal, Illinois! I was blown away when I saw his audition, and have fallen even more in love with his voice after every show.
Jeffrey Austin,(shhh–real name McClelland), moved out of Normal with his mother, brother and grandparents to St. Charles during his middle school years after the sudden death of his father. After Jeffrey joined the Haines Middle School choir, he was encouraged to pursue music as something more than just a hobby. His talent was evident early on. But Jeffrey was nervous about not having a “back up plan”, so after high school he majored in communications and advertising, eventually taking a public relations job at firm in New York CIty. Yet he couldn’t let his music go, and on a whim, auditioned for the show. The rest is history being written right now, and the outcome is partially up to us, as the LIVE ROUNDS including voting for Jeffrey at home start this week!
Andy Corbin is the genius who tracked Jeffrey down for our first interview, where he couldn’t tell us if he made the show or not. Honestly, I was worried he didn’t, because the talent on the show this year is STELLAR. But that sneaky boy kept the secret for months, and we finally got him to spill.

Jeffrey Austin is a part of “Team Gwen,” lead by the celebrity judge on the show Gwen Stefani. On Monday November 9th, during the first round of live voting from the home audience, he tackled the Jesse Ware song ” Say You Love Me”.
During the elimination show on Wednesday, Jeffery was announced as one of the top artists on Team Gwen, which guaranteed him a spot next week when the top 12 perform again. So keep those votes coming. He could win the whole show!
