Twilight author Stephanie Meyer is celebrating the 10th anniversary of her vampire franchise’s first novel by debuting a new version of the story in which the lead characters’ genders are swapped. So instead of Edward and Bella, there’s now Beau and Edythe starring in the new book Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined, which is for sale now.

“I wanted to do something fun for the 10th anniversary and the publisher wanted, like, a foreword and I thought, ‘Well, maybe something more interesting,'” Meyer said on Good Morning America. “I thought, ‘What if we switched it around a bit and see how a boy does.'”

As of today, October 9th 2015, the book is the top 10 of all major best seller lists, even though the fan reviews have not been very positive.

Jacob is now Julie.

Vlogger Katytastic did a quick chat with Stephanie Meyer in Forks, Washington. Watch as she reflects on ten years of Twilight and discusses what new projects she has in the works.

Meyer has also broken the news that fans shouldn’t expect to see “Midnight Sun” anytime soon. The “Twilight” companion novel narrated from the vampire Edward’s point of view was abandoned by Meyer in 2008 after parts of it leaked online.
