Have you ever gotten caught napping while at work? This guy is in more trouble than most, but doctors have been saying loudly that naps are good for us! This story makes me want to lie down.From The Seattle Times:

People who take at least three daytime naps a week lasting 30 minutes or longer cut their risk of dying from a heart attack by 37 percent, according to a new study by a team of American and Greek researchers.

But wait, there is more!

Regular siestas apparently lower stress, which is frequently associated with heart disease, the scientists report in today’s edition of the Archives of Internal Medicine, a leading medical journal.

Facing huge budget shortfalls, the United States Postal Service has proposed solutions including closing hundreds of post offices and eliminating Saturday deliveries. Now it may be considering jacking up the price of stamps, too.

The popularity of internet services like online bill pay have led in part to a 1.7 percent decline in mail volume, causing the USPS to anticipate losing $14.1 billion in 2012 — with bigger losses expected in the years to come.

In response, postal officials sent a letter to Congress last Thursday in which they recommended several changes, including the possibility of increasing the price of a stamp from its current 45 cents up to 50 cents. While stamp prices have gone up four times since 2006, chief financial officer Joe Corbett said, “Clearly, we’re [still] underpriced [and] would like the ability to move that price up.”

The USPS says the extra nickel, which would likely be added in one or two-cent increments until 2015, would raise revenues by $1 billion annually. Although taxpayers don’t foot the bill to keep the postal service running, Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe told Congress that failing to help the organization limit its losses would result in a “long-term burden to the American taxpayer.”

American Mustache Institute

When someone grows a mustache, all of society benefits, since the visually pleasing facial hair is now on display for all to see. Yet the costs of maintaining a proper lip sweater falls only on the mustachioed individual.

The fine folks at the American Mustache Institute want to change this. So they recently proposed the “Stimulus To Allow Critical Hair Expenses,” or the STACHE ACT, which awards a $250 tax credit to every mustached American. They are also calling for a Million Mustache March in support of the act that will take place in Washington DC on April 1st. (Yup, always a bit suspicious.)

The AMI, who partnered with H&R Block on the proposal, even  drew up a white paper on why the STACHE act is necessary. Here is its summery:

In summary, the grooming habits of Mustached Americans are a clear example of financial, social and environmental responsibility—the triple bottom line. It is appropriate that Congress allow a limited number of deductions to people of Mustached American heritage in recognition of the value that their lifestyle provides to the economy, to society, and to the environment.

This week’s episode of ‘Glee,’ ‘On My Way,’ was all about choosing life and not backing down, but the last two seconds were shockingly somber.

It seemed like Quinn was back on top after her rebellious phase and attempts at stealing her child back earlier this season. She’s forgiven. She’s been forgiven. She’s been accepted to Yale, and in ‘On My Way,’ she was accepted back onto the Cheerios. She even made peace with Rachel, telling her she’s happy that she and Finn are getting married. But the end of ‘On My Way’ threatened to change everything for Quinn.

After Rachel hears that Quinn is okay with her getting married to Finn, she invites her to be a bridesmaid in the wedding. On the wedding day, while Finn gets sentimental and the lovebirds’ parents devise a disruption, Quinn is caught in traffic after going home to get her bridesmaid’s dress. She gets several frantic texts from Rachel, asking urgently “where are you??” As she is texting “on my way,” her car is hit by a truck.

We’ve seen Quinn go througfh a lot in her senior year, too much for her to be a victim of texting-while driving. Please be okay, Quinn, PLEASE!

The 23rd season of ‘The Simpsons’ will go out with a bang, as that’s when the episode featuring Lady Gaga will air.

Gaga taped her ep late last summer and just like ‘SNL’ last May, she will appear on a season finale of a long-running comedy show. ‘The Simpsons’ remains the longest airing scripted show on prime time TV, while ‘SNL’ has been airing since 1975, so Gaga has a penchant for appearing on some of the most beloved shows on the small screen.

The Mother Monster’s episode is called ‘Lisa Goes Gaga’ and Gaga factors into the plot as someone who comes to Springfield in order to cheer up little Lisa, who is often the voice of reason on the show.

The Telegraph reports that Gaga has mused about her role on the show, saying, “I play a little bit of a slut. The apple doesn’t fall far from my artistic tree.”

Uh oh. Is Gaga going to be a bad influence on the sweet and wholesome Lisa Simpson? Will she teach her how to dance? Will she whip Bart into shape? Will she give Marge hair tips? Will she eat donuts with Homer? The possibilities are endless.

The exact air date of the season finale of ‘The Simpsons’ has not yet been confirmed, but it should air sometime in May. PopCrush will certainly recap the episode for you, dear reader!

‘How I Met Your Mother’ star Neil Patrick Harris tweeted yesterday that there would be an awesome cameo on last night’s episode.  He said to pay special attention to guys hanging out in the bar.  I of course, forgot to watch so I didn’t see who it was.  It only turned out to be my comedy idol Conan O’Brien.

It’s a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo, but you can see Conan clear as day when NPH runs by him.  The story goes that Conan won the cameo at an auction for charity, but insisted that he would only appear in the background – or as in the background as a 6’4″ Irish guy can.

Batman will generally only don his bat-suit when there is crime that needs to be fought. However, there is another caped crusader — Toronto Batman — who has no problem slipping into the iconic costume just because he wants to enjoy a night on the town.

Toronto Batman was kind enough to record his latest experiences in his Canadian hometown.

As you can see, Batman doesn’t have to take down bad guys to contribute to society. His mere presence seems to cheer people up, even when he is rambling on about his dead parents or berating moviegoers for being way too early to see ‘The Dark Knight Rises.’ And, yes, Toronto Batman will pose for pictures.

The video would’ve probably been better if Batman was little easier to understand. Although his often inedible utterances work as both a parody of Christian Bale’s unusually low register when he plays the part and the controversy surrounding ’The Dark Knight Rises’ villain Bane, whose muffled dialogue has been difficult to decipher in the movie’s trailers.

Chris Brown wished former (and possibly current) flame Rihanna a happy birthday in a very public way: on Twitter. Not only did Breezy wish Robyn (Rihanna’s real first name) well, he also released his ‘Turn Up the Music’ remix on her special day — and she’s featured on it. On the remix, RiRi sings the second verse and joins Brown on the hook. While it can be argued that their personal lives may not entangle well together, they certainly make good music together. The duo announced the remix on Twitter, with Rihanna posting the link with the message, “@chrisbrown Turn up the music remix #RihannaNavy #TeamBreezy enjoy!!!”

Brown’s remix comes hot on the heels of a publicized possible reunion for the notorious volatile former couple. Brown and Rihanna reportedly spent four hours together in her dressing room during Grammy rehearsals and have been sending loved up tweets to one another for ages now. Rumors have been rampant since January that they’ve been hooking up on the sly — something Brown’s girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, denies.

‘Turn Up the Music’ isn’t the only music the pair will be making together. Breezy is the feature on RiRi’s upcoming ‘Birthday Cake’ remix, a decision that came under massive backlash from both fans and critics alike.

Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday is the final day of Carnival, and the day before Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. It’s been celebrated in Louisiana since the 17th century when it was under French rule. Over 750,000 people are expected to party in New Orleans today for Mardi Gras. An NBC poll reveals that 50% of Americans celebrate Mardi Gras, while 70% would consider signing a petition to make Mardi Gras a national holiday.

According to a study done by the University of New Orleans, Mardi Gras celebrations generate $840 million annually. New Orleans alone makes $144 million from their Mardi Gras celebrations. 400 floats are expected to parade through New Orleans today. Tonight, the New Orleans police are making a big change to the city’s curfew. No one under 16 is allowed alone in the French Quarter after 8 p.m.

Should today be a national holiday? If that was true this year, we would have had a four day weekend thanks to Washington’s Birthday.  Or would you rather have the day after the Superbowl off? Would you celebrate Fat Tuesday more often if it was a holiday?

A man in Bartlett, TN. allegedly bought a safe off of eBay for $122.93.  He then had it cut open and found $26,000 inside.  This report only interviews the seller of the safe who has since added a line to his profile saying that he was playing a prank and that the whole story is fake.  Isn’t that exactly the kind of thing you do when you don’t want people to know you just made a giant mistake?  And what about the email chain in the story?  Did he fake all that just to play a prank?

Face it dude, you messed up.

Remember that movie Cocktail with Tom Cruise where he played a bartender and flipped the bottles all over the place because it looked cool?  This guy does that with food and it’s amazing.  Make sure you watch long enough to see when he flips the food up, catches, and flips it again on to the plate.  I seriously yelled “NO HE DIDN’T!” when I saw it.

I can’t imagine the mess my kitchen would be if I tried this.

The Denzel Washington/Ryan Reynolds thriller ‘Safe House’ kept movie-goers on the edge of their seats this holiday weekend, earning $28.4 million to land at the top of the charts in its second week of release.

‘The Vow’ took in $26.6 million for the runner-up spot, barely squeaking past ‘Journey 2: The Mysterious Island,’ which sold $26.4 million in tickets for third.

Rounding out the top five? Nicolas Cage’s ‘Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance’ and the Reese Witherspoon rom-com ‘This Means War,’ which netted $25.7 million and $20.4 million, respectively.

Here’s a list of the top 10 movies at the box office Friday through Monday with estimated grosses, along with how much each movie has made since its release:

Over the last few months, there has been some data that suggests the sluggish economy could be improving. Mainly, the unemployment rate, which has dropped to 8.3 percent after reaching a 26-year high of 10 percent in late 2009. However, according to a new survey from Poll Postion, the public is split on whether America is entering into a period of economic recovery.

Thirty-eight percent of the 1,242 registered voters polled said the economy is improving while another 38 percent said it was still deteriorating. Twenty-two percent believe the economy is staying the same.

What political party the respondent belongs to seemed to have a big influence on their economic views. Sixty-eight percent of democrats believe the economy is getting better, whereas 53 percent of republicans think it continues to get worse. Political independents surveyed tended to agree with the republicans.

When I was a kid, on the rare occasion that we went to a restaurant for dinner, we knew to be good.  On the even more rare occasions that we weren’t good, it was a quick trip to the restroom or out to the car for a reminder on politeness.

This practice seems to have gone away lately, and a restaurant in Georgia is doing something about it.

Grant Central Pizza in Atlanta has added the following to their menus:

“Dear all present and future patrons: GCP is proud of its reputation as a family restaurant, a title that we will work to keep. Unfortunately a number of our diners have posted unpleasant experiences because of crying and unsupervised children. To ensure that all diners have an enjoyable lunch or dinner with us we respectfully ask that parents tend to their crying tots outside.”

The owner of the restaurant says that he loves kids and wants them in his restaurant, he just doesn’t want one person to ruin the experience for everybody.

Seems fair to me, but I don’t have kids.  What say you?

When the third season of ‘Glee‘ wraps this May, Gleeks won’t be able to extend their enjoyment of the series into the summer with the ‘Glee Live! In Concert’ tour. That’s because the tour is not happening this year.

Instead of hitting the road and entertaining fans, the cast will enjoy a nearly three month hiatus, thanks to head honcho Ryan Murphy, who is said to have fought for his fatigued cast, known for working 16-hour days, to get some well-deserved time off. It’s summer vacation for Lea Michele, Darren Criss and co.

The Hollywood Reporter exclusively shared the news that the tour, which took place over the last two summers, is on ice. ”We currently have no plans of touring the cast this summer,” a spokesperson for the show told the trade.

A fourth season of the series has not been ordered, so this could be a case of the powers-that-be taking a wait and see approach. Or it could just be Murphy trying to stave off burn out for his cast.

But despite the axing of the tour, the producers are said to be planning a live performance, with designs on a one-off benefit show that would take place in the fall at the famed Hollywood Bowl. The show would act as a fundraiser for the arts education charity ‘Glee Give a Note.’ The organization would like to raise $10 million this year and a charity gig is certainly a good way to help achieve such a goal. Said benefit show is still an idea and nothing has been confirmed.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, Gleeks. It’s all reruns and watching previous seasons on DVD if you want to enjoy ‘Glee’ this summer.
