I’m totally pumped for the return of ‘Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution.’ Season 2 debuted last night, and I was absolutely HORRIFIED to learn how hamburgers are made in both the fast food industry and schools. After Jamie’s disgusting demonstration, I’m seriously contemplating becoming a vegetarian, because I have no idea how to figure out where the meat I consume is coming from! Watch this clip from last night’s show, and tell me you don’t feel the same way!!!

Even more disturbing, Susan, Jason, and I just learned that in order to encourage healthful eating, a Chicago school isn’t allowing kids to bring lunches or certain snacks from home. Little Village Academy students aren’t allowed to pack lunches from home unless they have a medical excuse. Principal Elsa Carmona said her intention is to protect students from their own unhealthful food choices. She says: “Nutrition wise, it is better for the children to eat at the school. It’s about the nutrition and the excellent quality food that they are able to serve (in the lunchroom). It’s milk versus a Coke. But with allergies and any medical issue, of course, we would make an exception.”

After watching ‘Food Revolution,’ how can this possibly be the case? What are your thoughts?
